The end of the Knitting Olympics brought a wonderful fiber-filled weekend to Casa dePinkPurl. I had the opportunity to meet Patti in person at Village Yarn and Tea Saturday morning. Just as I have found with other knit-bloggers - instant rapport and a very enjoyable rambling conversation. Patti has a heart of gold and an artist's soul. The objective of our meet-up was my purchase of some of her lovely hand dyed yarn. She has a great eye for color (her eye is much better than my camera and warm indoor lighting). The lovely ripply blue (Hollyhock) is for me, and I think it's destined to be Pomatomus Socks. The "Night Ocean" colorway will be a prize for an upcoming event. The blue and green is only stopping by my house on its way to Ryan. I don't know what the frothy red thing is, but I think we may find out next week (how Mysterious...).
This weekend also brought my first gift from my SP7 - and boy did I get giddy over it. Look carefully and you will see Noro and Lorna's Laces (gold hills colorway), candy, candle, foot cream, and nail polish. It is a full-on girl-fest. I'm planning a date with myself later this week to soak in a tub with the candle lit, followed by a lovely pedicure. I plan on smelling great. Tucked in with all of these goodies was a little tin of Knitters Mints flavored like green apples - they are my new favorite thing; they taste clean and bright. I have ideas for the Noro - but I need suggestions for the Lorna's Laces. It is really soft and pretty - what should it be?
Tonight I get to see the wonderful world traveler - Linda K. She is recently back from India (and other places abroad - or maybe she was a broad in other places...I'll have to clarify that) and she brought BLING and I a bunch of Pure Air products. Pure Air is a scent line made by Maroma in Auroville. I used to find it at City Peoples Mercantile, but they no longer carry it - nor does anybody in the US. Lucky me, Linda went to Auroville and got it for me - I can't wait to smell it again. Pure Air is full of bergamot, vetiver, and clean green scents.
